Benevenuto a Roma!

Salve!  Buongiorno!

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I hope to share with you all the beautiful, exciting, and sometimes crazy italian things I experience this semester in Rome. Rome is an enchanting city, a busy city, an italian city, a holy city, and for sure a new city for me. There's no denying I am not in Washington DC [nor Orange County] anymore.

Top 10 Ways I know I'm in Rome:

1. They don't like take-out containers or small portions. A real issue for Jackie Sardina.
2. I don't need to wait 20 minutes for Metro Trackwork on the Red Line. Rome's A Line comes in 2-4 minutes!
3. NUTELLA GELATO.
4. Crossing the street is like waiting to turning your housing deposit. You hesitate, you DIE!
5. There are gorgeous Baroque Churches popping out on every corner. Catholic Wonderland.
6. They really value family time and sit down to a two hour meal at 8:30pm every day.
7. There are very few supermarkets or department stores. Everything is mom & pop!
8. Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and white socks are fashion emergencies.
9. Electric Guitar street performers by the Ancient Roman Ruins. Never gets old.
10. And I can drink all I want! Wine, Beer, Vodka, Rum...... if I could find a drink that doesn't make my taste buds cringe. It's a work in progress.

Well, there's much more to come and I can't wait. In a way I couldn't quite grasp until I get here, I think this semester for me is going to be a time of personal growth, new cultural experiences, and much excitement. If you want to stay in touch please email me anytime at 29sardina@cardinalmail.cua.edu. Know that I miss you all dearly and am praying for you often.

Ciao!
Jackie
